i don't have much to say about the oscars. unfortunately i'd seen very few of the nominees this year, so it wasn't like i was rooting for any particular film, director, actor, actress, etc. - that's probably why i fell asleep before the show was even over. i missed all the big awards and just found out who won this morning. i didn't see monster's ball and i don't want to take away from halle berry's moment, but i have to say this: "It is for every nameless, faceless woman of colour that now has a chance because this door tonight has been opened." she forgot to mention that it helps if you look like halle berry. honestly, that has very little to do with ms. berry herself, and much more to do with my own issues with hollywood.
... morespeaking of movies, though, any of you guys seen made? i won the dvd from hsx and i've yet to watch it. (it's autographed by mr. favreau, but come on, what's the point of having a dvd if you don't watch it?) i read some of the user comments at imdb and got worried because there didn't seem to be much middle ground. it seemed like most people either loved it or hated it. several people who said they hated it also mentioned that they hated swingers, which i quite liked, but that doesn't really mean anything.
one of my nephews is coming to visit for a week & he arrives this evening. i haven't seen him a long time, so i'm excited. we're taking him to hockey on friday. go hockey!
i've been up since 7am and i haven't had anything to eat. i should probably go remedy that now.
random movie quote:
"so i was sitting in my cubicle today, and i realized, ever since i started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. so that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."
"what about today? is today the worst day of your life?"
"yeah."
"wow, that's messed up."
