i tried to put my bed frame together yesterday. for the most part, it's complete, but i'm missing two small screws. during the flood, all of the screws, nuts, bolts, etc. for my bed frame got wet. don't ask me how this happened, as they were all in sealed plastic bags - sealed as far as i could tell anyway. so they got wet. they were all yucky and rusted. i went to home depot one night with one of each thing i needed to see if i could get replacements. the guy that was helping me wasn't actually very helpful. all he did was not find me any replacements and lose one of the screws in the process. then yesterday i managed to somehow lose another one of the same damn little tiny screws, so now i need two. hooray for me.
my house is getting closer and closer to being liveable again.
... moreif i would just get a freaking job, i could move back in very soon. job. job. job. must get job. must work for a living again. i thought about doing this thing through americorps (even though it is americorps). they'll give you free training and then you go off to help people learn to read. what a fulfilling job that would be. on the downside, though, you only make around $800/mth and you have to commit to it for a year. there's simply no way i can pay rent and everything else i have to pay for on less than $10,000 a year. i guess they normally expect younger people (like people in college without many expenses because their parents are paying for most everything) to do this kind of work. hmm, that just came out sounding like i was ragging on college students, didn't it? well, i wasn't. so please don't infer that. my communication skills are lacking because i am so smrt. i mean smart.
i've been thinking about registering a domain and hosting it with one of those el cheapo hosting companies. all i need it for is stuff. (dang, can't find a sound file of that). the point is - it's not very important, so an el cheapo company would probably work out just fine. don't you think? yeah. anyway, that's something to think about down the line since i currently need to worry about paying for more important things - like rent.
speaking of paying for things, my gold membership is up for renewal. what happens to my diaryings if i don't renew? i bet they'd disappear. i'm pretty sure i'm going to renew, so it's really not a serious issue, i was just curious.
