i think i know part of the reason i haven't been updating as regularly. if i write, it seems all i have to say are things like "i went to the doctor today" or "i finally have the ultrasound scheduled" or "they think my TSH level (thyroid) might be low." not very exciting stuff, now is it? not really. i did go to the doctor today. he upped the dosage on my anti-depressant. oh yay. i did get the ultrasound scheduled for friday afternoon, so that's finally taken care of. midwife thinks my TSH level looks low, so i'm off to an endocrinologist tomorrow afternoon. he seems to think it's normal, but he's going to see me and do more lab work anyway. oh double yay. also, i think i'm getting a bit of a belly now. my scale says if i've gained anything, it's only like 2-3 pounds, but for some reason it feels like it should be much more than that. i looked through some belly galleries last night, and i have to say that those end of the road bellies look so frightening. check out this animated gif from 8-40 weeks. yikes.
... morewhen i got home from the doctor today, i took a nap. that 'nap' lasted about 4 1/2 hours. i still feel tired, though. i think i'll be sleeping soon. i've been staying up way too late this week. it's not because i haven't been tired, it's just that i have such a hard time falling asleep. supposedly i'll get a break from this whole 'tiredness' thing for a while pretty soon here, so i'm looking forward to that.
rob called a while ago - around midnight. he was still at work. he's all hoping this baby is a girl, and i've been all hoping it's a boy. my mom keeps saying she thinks it's a boy based on a bunch of old wives tales' nonsense. especially with how early on i still am, i don't see how she can even be guessing. the chinese lunar calendar says i'll have a boy. madame zaritska says: "The day you deliver, outside will be rainy. Your baby will arrive in the morning. After a labor lasting approximately 2 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 6 pounds, 5 ounces, and will be 20-1/2 inches long. This child will have green eyes and be almost bald." heh. only a two hour labor? i can dream.
