i got the results from the 3-hour glucose test today and i'm fine. yay! apparently i just need to keep an eye on my sugar intake because my risk factor is higher or something. i won't worry about this too much, as i don't really ingest a ton of sugar in my average diet. my largest sugar intake used to be all of the mountain dew i'd drink. i've managed to nearly give that up now, though. i was going a little crazy with the caffeine and i really should be limiting my caffeine intake now as well.

i thought i'd have a much harder time giving up the mountain dew. i used to get headaches sometimes (rarely, but any headache at all is enough to bother me) that i'd blame on caffeine withdrawal. when i quit having at least one every day, though - nothing. headaches must have been about something else. also, many people used to tell me that the reason i would stay up so late all the time is because i drank too much mountain dew. well, hello! i'm still up too late most of the time, without any caffeine aid. i think i had one mountain dew last week and i'll probably get one before this week is over. i just get the craving every once in a while and so i give in.

poohead is snoring right now. have i ever mentioned that he has numerous lipomas (benign fatty tumors) on his body? probably not. i guess about four years ago or so, rob & i took him to the vet to have his teeth cleaned because we couldn't stand his stinky breath anymore. at that time i think he had two little lumps that we knew of, so we had the vet look at them. when he said "tumors" i guess we both freaked out a little, so he tried explaining them to us by relating them to warts - more of a cosmetic concern than a medical one. we found the analogy so funny, though, that we just kept on calling them warts. since he was going to get anesthesia anyway, the vet just gave him some local and removed the little lipomas, too. many more have now sprouted in their place, however. rob & i both like to call him a wart-ridden kitty. somehow it just seems fitting.

i rented the man who wasn't there, mulholland dr. and the others. they're all due back on saturday. maybe i'll actually watch the movies i rented this time, rather than just having them lay around for a few days and them return them 'cause i don't wanna pay late fees. while typing that, i realized that i should have rented moulin rouge! again so that i could actually watch the whole thing through. you can yell at me now.
