yesterday i met a bunch of old co-workers for lunch. sebastien's going to be laid off and omar quit, so both of them are out of there on friday. we needed one more wonderful wednesday. this restaurant used to be called "wonderful vegetarian restaurant". yes, that was the proper name. we normally ate there at least once a week, and after a while, the middle of every week became wonderful wednesday. the restaurant has since changed names, but the food and the ritual have remained the same.
... morethe group ended up being myself (quit long ago), rich (laid off long ago), ralph (laid off long ago but working 2 days a week contract for them right now), sebastien, omar, ryan (gone for a while now), erik (not sure when he left or was booted out), lance (laid off long ago) & jon aka el niño (he's still there). it was good to see everyone again. it's been a really long time since i've seen some of those guys. of course i wouldn't have missed el niño, but his being there was alright, too.
we used to have so much fun at work. when i was a kid, i called people 'chimahara' a lot. don't ask me what it means. i don't think it ever really meant anything in particular, it was just used for badmouthing in general. i had actually completely forgotten about it until one night when some people were over and we found an old paperback of mine - tv stars of 1977 or something like that. i'd written 'chimahara' across grant goodeve's face and blacked some of his teeth out. sebastien used to always call me "HooDaGoo" (instead of "HaDooGa") and from that it somehow transpired into "Hootergoo." after that, i started calling him "Chimahara." he sabotaged my page on the intranet first and then i retaliated. shortly thereafter, they took away our intranet editing capabilities. boo.
no matter, though. we just took our juvenile photoshop antics elsewhere. these are some of the funnier ones: seb again, sam, rich, and one more of seb. i can't find any more, actually. we also created a bunch of yahoo clubs (now yahoo groups), most of which are still (in)active. i just discovered, though, that all of the photo albums in the clean your area club are gone. damnit! there were some good ones in there.

well, i started writing this much earlier today and then i got sidetracked. jay's in town and he came over tonight, but it's so late that i should just go to bed already. i'm going to see a play that sarah (carpenter guy's oldest daughter) is in tomorrow morning, so i need to get some rest.
p.s. i snuck in a guestmap when nobody was looking. actually, that's not true. lisa with a silent s was looking, but i don't think anyone else was. but guess what? it appears that it's not even accessible right now. oh yay! perhaps some of you will be kind enough to try later and perhaps it will be working then.
